Subject: Temporary Halt to Auction Sales of Eight Toyota Models
Toyota Financial Services announces - With the safety of our customers and drivers as our top priority, Toyota Financial Services (TFS) is confirming a temporary halt to all auction sales of eight Toyota vehicles currently involved in the recall for sticking accelerator pedal, announced by Toyota Motor Sales, January 21, 2010.
Toyota’s accelerator pedal recall and suspension of sales is confined to the following Toyota Division vehicles:
2009-2010 RAV4
2005-2010 Avalon
2008-2010 Sequoia
2009-2010 Corolla
2010 Highlander
Certain 2007-2010 Camry
2009-2010 Matrix
2007-2010 Tundra
It is important to note that vehicles with a VIN beginning with JT are not involved in the recall or sales suspension. Camry vehicle VINs beginning with 4T4 are involved, while Camry vehicle VINs beginning with 4T1 can be inspected by the dealership to determine their involvement.
Additionally, no Lexus Division or Scion vehicles are affected by these actions. Also not affected are Toyota Prius, Tacoma, Sienna, Venza, Solara, Yaris, 4Runner, FJ Cruiser, Land Cruiser and select Camry models, including all Camry hybrids, which will remain
for sale.
Toyota Motor Sales is working quickly to prepare a correction remedy so that affected vehicles may be repaired.
